Captains and Officials Gather at Midfield Ahead of Night-Time Football Clash

The captains of two national football teams joined the match officials at the centre of the pitch on Tuesday evening, marking the final formalities before the start of an international fixture played under floodlights.
One captain, wearing a red shirt with yellow numbering, stood beside his counterpart in an all-white kit with red details. The red-shirted player held a decorative team pennant, suggesting that the customary exchange of commemorative banners was either under way or about to take place.
Between the captains stood the referee, holding the match ball, while two assistant referees positioned themselves at either side with brightly coloured flags. A fourth official also appeared alongside the group. The officiating team wore matching light-blue shirts, black shorts and black socks, creating a clear visual distinction from the competing sides.
In the background, players from both teams completed their final preparations. Several footballers in white gathered together near one side of the pitch, while players in red moved into position elsewhere. Advertising boards, including visible Hyundai branding, surrounded the playing area.
The match was being televised live by Vietnam’s VTV6 channel, whose logo and “Trực tiếp” — Vietnamese for “Live” — were displayed in the upper-left corner of the broadcast. A digital clock showed 20:28, indicating an evening kick-off in a stadium illuminated by powerful floodlights.
The scene reflected the structured opening of an international match, when captains typically greet the officials, exchange pennants and take part in the coin toss that determines which team begins with possession and which direction each side will attack.
Although the stands appeared relatively quiet from the camera angle, the players’ formal posture and the television presentation conveyed the significance of the occasion. The captains remained focused as the officials prepared to complete their checks and lead the teams into the opening phase of play.
With the pre-match ceremony nearing its conclusion, attention was set to shift from protocol to competition as both sides prepared to contest the ball under the lights.
